Privacy Policy

Moonbase is operated by Blauhaus Technology (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you play Moonbase, why we collect it, who else handles it, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect
When you sign in. Moonbase uses Google Sign-In. We receive your email address and a Google account identifier. We never see, receive or store your Google password.
When you play. We store the information needed to run the game:
- The handle you choose
- Which games you have joined, and which one you are currently playing
- Your game world — your moonbases, structures, units, movements, battles and scores
- Your clan membership and rank within it
- Messages you send in direct conversations and clan chats
- Your in-game currency balance and any medals you have earned
- The time you last took an action in a game, used to show clan-mates who is currently active
Automatically. Our servers keep technical logs and performance traces to diagnose faults — timestamps, request details, error information and your account identifier.
We do not collect your real name, postal address, phone number, date of birth, or location.
Why we collect it
- To create and operate your account
- To run the game and keep your progress
- To let you interact with other players
- To diagnose faults and keep the service running
- To detect and prevent abuse
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract — running the game you signed up for — and legitimate interests, for security and diagnostics.
What other players can see
Other players in the same game can see your handle, your rank and medals, your clan, and where your moonbases are on the map. Messages you send are visible to the people you send them to.
Your email address is never shown to other players.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers:
- Google — sign-in
- Hetzner Online GmbH — server hosting, in Germany
- Grafana Labs — technical logs and performance data
- Apple and Google — distribution of the app through their stores
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where your information is stored
On servers located in Germany, within the European Union.
How long we keep it
- Your account — for as long as it exists
- Game worlds — while the game is running. When a game ends, a copy is archived for our own records
- Technical logs — for a limited period, no longer than 30 days
Payments
Moonbase does not currently process payments and we hold no card or banking details. If in-app purchases are introduced, they will be handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, and this policy will be updated before that happens.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your account — see Deleting your account
- Object to how we use your information
Email info@play-moonbase.co.za and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in South Africa and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Moonbase is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under that age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the game.
