Terms of Service

Moonbase is operated by Blauhaus Technology (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you play Moonbase. By signing in and playing, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the game.

Who may play
Moonbase is not intended for children under 13, and you may not create an account if you are under that age. If you are under 18, you may only play with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
You may not use Moonbase if we have previously closed your account.
Your account
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping that Google account secure, and for everything done through your Moonbase account.
- One account per person. Creating more than one account to gain an advantage — for example to feed resources or units between them — is not allowed.
- Your account is yours alone. You may not sell, rent, share or transfer it.
- Your handle must not impersonate anyone else, and must not be offensive.
Tell us at info@play-moonbase.co.za if you believe someone else has used your account.
Games begin and games end
Moonbase is played in separate games. A game has a defined life — it opens, it runs, it reaches an endgame, and then it finishes. When a game finishes, play in it stops permanently and the world is archived for our own records.
This matters and we want to be plain about it: progress in a game is not permanent and does not carry over. What you build, take and hold exists within that game. Medals you earn are kept against your account across games; the world you built them in is not.
We may also end, reset or remove a game where we need to — for example a test game, or one affected by a fault.
The game is under active development
Moonbase is being actively built. Rules, balance, features and screens will change, and some changes will affect games in progress. We may add, alter or remove any part of the game at any time.
In-game currency and purchases
Moonbase does not currently sell anything. If in-app purchases are introduced, they will be handled by Apple, Google or Microsoft under their own terms, and we will not hold your card or banking details.
Moonbase includes an in-game currency, mGold, and other in-game items. These terms apply to all of them, whether granted by us or bought:
- They are a limited licence to use them inside the game. You do not own them.
- They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be sold or transferred to anyone else.
- They may be changed, revalued or withdrawn as the game develops.
- Unused balances and items end when your account or the game ends, and are not refunded.
Where purchases exist, refunds are handled by the store you bought through, under that store's policy. Nothing here removes any refund right you have under the South African Consumer Protection Act or other law that applies to you.
How to behave
Moonbase is a game about attacking, defending and outgrowing other players. That is the game working as intended. What is not allowed is anything outside it:
- Cheating. Using bots, scripts, automation or modified clients; exploiting faults rather than reporting them; interfering with the servers or other players' connections.
- Abuse. Harassing, threatening or bullying other players; hate speech; sexual content; anything involving children.
- Spam and advertising in chat, handles or clan names.
- Trading accounts, currency or items for real money.
- Anything unlawful, or anything that attempts to obtain another player's personal information.
If you find a fault that gives an unfair advantage, report it to info@play-moonbase.co.za rather than using it.
What you write
You are responsible for the messages you send, the handle you choose and the clan names you create. You keep ownership of what you write, and you give us permission to store it, show it to the players it is addressed to, and remove it.
We are not obliged to monitor chat, but we may read, remove or retain messages where we need to — to investigate a report, to deal with abuse, or where the law requires it.
Suspending or closing an account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond, but we may act immediately where the breach is serious or where other players are being harmed.
Closing an account ends any in-game currency, items and progress attached to it.
You can close your account at any time. See Deleting your account, which explains what is removed and what is kept.
Availability
We want Moonbase to be up and we work at keeping it that way, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. It may be unavailable for maintenance, for faults, or for reasons outside our control.
Games run continuously and time passing in a game is part of it. We do not compensate for time lost to an outage, in currency, items or otherwise.
We may discontinue Moonbase entirely. If we do, we will give reasonable notice through the game where we are able to.
What belongs to us
Moonbase, its name, its artwork, its code and its game design belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. You may not copy, decompile, reverse engineer or redistribute any part of the game, or build a competing service from it.
Our responsibility to you
Moonbase is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not give warranties that it will be uninterrupted, fault-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost progress, currency or items, or for the conduct of other players. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the South African Consumer Protection Act, and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.
Your privacy
What we collect and why is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
App stores
Where you install Moonbase from Apple's App Store, Google Play or the Microsoft Store, that store's own terms apply to you in addition to these.
For the App Store specifically: this agreement is between you and us and not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Moonbase or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for Moonbase. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do we will update this page and change the date at the top, and we will announce significant changes in the game. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, this does not remove the protection of any mandatory law of the country you live in.
If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at info@play-moonbase.co.za. Most things are quicker to resolve that way.
